Scott VanOrden
Scott has been a musician for 27 years. He played in the country band 'Wild Card' touring Utah, Nevada, Idaho, and Wyoming, playing shows with Ricochet, Bailey and the Boys, and multiple other headlining country acts of the 90's where he developed a love for making music. He started writing and recording songs early in his career and found that he had a knack for composing and arranging modern music. "Nothing like a good groove and a good story!" Scott has had songs aired on spike TV and co-written and recorded numerous songs with hit song writer Eric Hickenlooper. "Composing and recording music was a journey, and a journey I wanted to be a part of." He decided to step away from a successful business and pursue composing, producing and recording full time and went to work studying and designing the Mudcat studio. Knowing just what he wanted, he was involved in every board, nail, wire, circuit, light, sound treatment, and cosmetic finish that went into the studio. He has spent countless hours listening and adjusting to get THE sound. Then there's the gear....... after buying, selling, and horse trading more gear than we can count, we have found THE recipe.
Brody Layton
Brody grew up as a small town kid with a larger than life view of the day to day. From home movies to the Hillbilly Olympics, there has always been theme music playing in the background of his life. Brody first started working in the Mudcat studio during its construction. He was called in to help with the special electrical requirements that Scott had drawn up as part of his meticulous vision for the studio. The day after the studio construction was finished Brody showed up anyway, and the day after that, and the day after that. He watched and then began to contribute as he found that he had an eye and ear for the music making process. Now, years later, He and Scott have made it a goal to turn music and video into an experience for any audience.
